E-business needs strong networking

RELIABLE and secure connectivity and Internet access is vital to the widespread adoption of e-business in Malaysia, according to network service provider Cordoda Corp chief operating officer Shane Hodge.
“With the national agenda, government agencies are driving the adoption of e-business strategies and the gradual transformation of Malaysia into a knowledge based economy or ‘k-economy.’
“However, it is the ready availability of secure and extremely reliable ‘info-communications’ infrastructure that will act as the catalyst to the widespread acceptance and usage among customers in the private sector,” he said at a recent press briefing in Kuala Lumpur.
“Telecommunications and info-communications service providers are forced to deli-ver high quality of service (QoS) to meet the rising needs of customers,” he added.
“In the process they are required to educate extensively and match technological advances to keep up with rising customer expectations.” According to a recent government study, out of an approximate 20,000 SMIs (small and medium industries) in Malaysia, only an estimated 15% have adopted an e-business strategy.
Hodge claimed that Cordoda’s Enterprise Broadband Network (EBN) is a comprehensive solution to the accessibility and info-communications needs of Malaysian companies.
